PeachyKeenStamps Wednesday at My Cricut Craft Room

Today I am honored to use the Peachy Keen Stamps.  If you have never ordered or tried these stamps before, YOU NEED TO!  They are amazing and so fun and easy to use!  They give your project a 'special something'.

For my project today, I made two cards, with a slight variation.  I wanted to use another stamp set for the 'saying'  and I knew I wanted to use my Peachy Keen face stamps with my Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge.  I swear this cartridge is a 'must have', in my book.

Here is my 'sneak peek' from My Cricut Craft Room's blog.

I know there are many variations on this type of card out there but I had fun making my own.  I hope you enjoy it too. For the base, I used a  white card stock that measures at 6 1/2 by 5".  My next layer came from a 8x8 paper that I found on clearance from 7 gypsies Journey collection.  At first when I saw this paper I loved the bright colors, then I got it home was not sure about it.  So, guess what, I decided to challenge my self and use it in this card.  I used my Gypsy to create the bee hive, measuring at 4.36 x 4.41 inches, I embossed the 'hive' with my Cuttlebug ebossing folder called Tiny Bubbles and then used my Tim Holtz Deistress Inks to enhance the Bee Hive look.  The Tim Holtz inks I used in both my card variations were Antique Lined and Wild Honey.  Then I added a little X-Mas Red stickels to the heart at the top of the bee hive.  My little bumble bee measures at 1.62 x 2.18 inches.  I used my Gypsy to hide the facial features on my little bees face since I knew I wanted to use my Peachy Keen Happy Lashes face stamp.  I also added a little light pink to the cheeks and some blue flock for the wings and antennas.  My saying "Happy Bee-day" is samped in the Tim Holtz Wild Honey and is from the Pink By Design Honey Pie stamp set.

Here is another variation of the card I made.
With this Bumble Bee I use the Peachy Keen Cute and Cuddly Face stamp, with the white gelly pen for the eyes and a pink gelly pen for his nose and tongue.  Pink flock for the wings and antennas.  I also used the Honey Pie stamp set from Pink By Design for the saying.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today.

My First Blog Post as a Design Team Member! Enjoy!

Welcome to my first blog post as a new member of  My Cricut Craft Room. If you only could of heard me when I found out that I was picked to be a Design Team member.  I am not sure I slept that night, I was to excited to be a part of this group of Cricut loving crafters.  In fact this is the start of my new crafting blog.  I finally decided to seperate from my family blog and share what I create.  Wish me blessings!

The theme for today was using one of Cricut's ABC cartridges.  I immediately wanted to use Kate's ABC's that my mom got me for Mother's Day.  I decided I was going to make a card for my cousin's little girl.  I wanted to send her a small card letting her know I was thinking of her.

Here is my 'sneak peek' ...

The supplies I used:

  • Kate's ABC's Cricut Cartridge
  • Cuttlebug Embossing folder-buttons
  • A2 size white card (pre-made from Michael's)
  • Yellow, Pink, Brown and Green cardstock from Core'dinations paper for the border, little girl, bunny, phrase and little girls hair.
  • I added matching Smooch Paints to the little girl and her dress to make it shine, her hair to make it darker, along with making parts of her hat stand out more.
  • Glossy Accents were added to the bunny and ties on the hat.
  • Cotton Candy Stickles were used to out line her hat/
  • Viva Decor Pearl Pens were used to accent the flowers and grass.
I hope you enjoyed my 1st post.  I look forward to sharing more next week with you.

It would be great if you headed back to My Cricut Craft Room  and see what the other designers have worked up for you today.

Hugs,

Tess
