Scrapbooking Friday

Happy Friday and Labor Day weekend!  I am so excited to share with you my character layout for the design team with My Cricut Craft Room.  I purposely picked this theme, since I knew I wanted to scrapbook my Winnie the Pooh pictures from Disney World a couple years ago.  What a fantastic time we had!  Just my mom, my daughter and me; all there celebrating my mom's birthday and my daughter's first time visiting.  It really is a  magical place!

This is the finished layout using only two Cricut Cartridges.  Pooh and Friends Cartridge and the Pooh Font Cartridge.  I just love this fun kid like font.  I use it all the time.

Let's get started with my receipe...
The layout is a 12x12 using We R Memory Keepers Designer Paper, Grandma's Kitchen. The chipboard for 'Winnie & Tigger " come from this collection as well.  But I did not have enough chipboard for my entire title so I cut the rest of my words using the Pooh Font cartridge with paper from the same stack and then outlined in stickles to match the chipboard. I place half circles on both sides under the pictures and a 1" strip on top and bottom.    Winnie the Pooh is cut at approximately 4" and Tigger is cut at at approximatey the same size.  They are both cut from the Pooh and Friends Cricut Cartridge.  I just love this cut of Tigger looking over whatever you place him on.  For me it was the border.  I wanted him looking over the top picture orginally but he hung over to far for my taste.  The vellum saying is from Creative Memories Disney stack I found  a year ago at a crop.    And the extra embellishements are from the We R Memory Keepers pack and held in place with some medium size gold brads.
Here are some close us pictures of the two pages.

Scrapbook Friday

Happy Friday everyone!  Today's challenge for me with My Cricut Craft Room was to use one of the Cricut Lite Cartridges in a layout.  So, here is what I came up with...  I apologize in advance for the glare on the photos.  I was having photo and computer issues this week.  :(
This is my final two page layout for my daughter's 6th birthday.  We had a Pajama Party, with breakfast foods served.  And of course, cake and ice cream.
Since it was birthday party was a Pajama party, I knew I just want to buy the Cricut Slumber Paty lite cartridge.  So, Walmart.com got some business  from me one night.  Hahahaha!

The cartridges I used on the whole layout were Once Upon a Princess, Slumber Party Lite, Wall Decor and More and Gypsy Wanderings.

For this page, I off with the Pebbles, Ever After paper, I cut out the castle from Wall Decor and More at 4" then added some crystal stickles to the swirls.  The pink poke-a-dot ribbon is from Stampin' Up, as is the chipboard that I colored with Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise. The tag is cut from the Once Upon a Princess at 2.5" and is also part of the Ever After collection.  "Party" was cut out at 2" with my Gypsy Wanderings cartridge that comes preistalled with the Gypsy.   Lastly, on this page is the little girl in her PJ's.  I cut her out from Once Upon a Princess at 3" with coordinating pajamas and slippers.  I only added some stickles to her buttons to have them stand out. For her face I used my favorite Peachy Keen Happy Lashes face stamp, and a little pink chalk for blush.

My second page in the layout mainly used the Cricut Slumber Party Lite Cartridge.  I started out with the another paper from the Pebbles, Ever After paper.  And cut a 2.5" strip of the castle paper (opposite side of the turquoise paper).  I also matted the two center photos, top and bottom with the turquoise paper.  The pajama's and night time face mask are all cut from the Slumber Party  Lite Cricut Cartridge.  They were cut out at 2".  I embellished them with Martha  Stewarts white flock and decided to sew the open holes on the PJ's with white thread instead of using the white paper I cut out as the ties to the PJ's.  They are all pop dotted .  Lastly, I wanted to add on the paper something small that showed it my daugher's 6th birthday.  So, I cut out a crown with the number 6 on thin chipboard, from the Once Upon A Princess cartrige, then colored it to match the other chipboard on the opposite page and added some Crystal stickles only the number 6 and some jewels to the top of the crown.

Thank you for stopping by today.  If you have not done so already, head back to Erica's Cricut Craftroom at www.mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com to see all my design team sisters layouts using the Lite cartridges.

Blessing everyone!  Enjoy your weekend!

My IMAGINE-ation Monday

Welcome to 'My Imagine-ation Monday' post for My Cricut Craft Room.  For today's project I was able to use my Cricut Imagine!  Would you believe I kinda forgot about it...YIKES!  After working on this layout, I rememberrd how easy and quick it is to use.  How could I have forgotten about it?!

I decided to make a chart-layout for my newist, as of this weekend. three year old.  We are potty training and for everytime he goes he gets a star or sticker to put on the chart.
I used Cricut's Designer Calendar and Cricut Imagine's Blast Off for the whole project.  So that made this super quick and easy.
Here are a couple photos of my layout using the Imagine.

Since I was using the Imagine, I used white card stock and used the fit to page option for the Designer's Calendar chart option.  I printed only the chart/calendar and then wrote in red the dates with my Creative Memories markers.  I chose the truck and circle burst from the Blast Off cartridge without any changes.
Those were cut & colored at 3.5".
The days of the week were cut out at 1.8 using Designer Calendar and colored in with Blast Off colors.  As was the word 'August'.  I used the remaining paper for this, so I used the 'fit to page' option.  And I forgot to look at the end result.  Sorry!

Thanks for stopping by today for Imagine-ation Monday.  I hope by looking at my easy and quick creation, you will check out my design sister's ideas at www.mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com
and then go get crafty!
See ya'll soon!

Blessings!

Card Creating Tuesday

Hi again, everyone!  I hope you all enjoyed the 100 Cricut Cartridge blog hop with My Cricut Craft Room this weekend.   My project today was to make a
'Cheering  Up' card.
So, I went for something simple and cute, then went straight to one of my favorite cartridges... Campin' Critters. Here is what I came up with......

My base card measures 6.25"x 4.5"
The Green mat measure approximately  5.5"
The tree with the little bear peaking out
 measures at 6"
I added some goggely eyes and some glaze to his nose to make it shine.
My sentinment comes from one of my many favorite stamp designers,
My Pink Stamper.  The set is called 'More Punny-lious".
My ribbon, was actually left over from another project.  My papers were all found in my scraps, as I went to them first knowing I would not need alot for this card.

Thanks for stopping to see what I made for you today,
I hope this card 'cheers you up' just by looking at it.  :)
If you need more 'cheering up' stop by my other fabulous Design Team sisters to see what they created for you at My Cricut Craft Room .

Blessings!

100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room
100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop Day ONE

You should have started at http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/ if not please start at the beginning.

Collectively the design team uses over 100 different Cricut Cartridges in their projects during the two days of this hop. Sunday the new members of the design team will be announced and some have even made a project to share with you!! What an exciting weekend!!

As special treat enjoy 10% off of your total purchase with Erica's Craft Room Store.
Use the code AUGUST to see 10% off of your total purchase (No exclusions)
Today as part the design team I have made three projects for you with at least three different Cricut Cartridges.  So let's get started...
My first project I used Campin' Critters, Boys will be Boys and Give a Hoot to make this cute 4x4 card.  Everything was cut out at approximately 4".  I used the Tim Holtz distressing ink Vintage Photo to help give the raccoon and his bike some depth.  I also found a sun stamp in my stash, so I decided to add that in a light yellow to make it look like it was in the far back ground.  The kite comes from Boys will be Boys, with the sentiment coming from the Woodland Critters stamp set by Pink By Design.
Next, I have a simple layout  using the Happily Ever After Cricut Cartridge for a one page layout from Disney World.  It is when we were able to meet Snow White as soon as we walked into the park.

I used my Cricut gel pens to write out "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". I then cut it out and colored the empty spaces in with my smooch paints.  The apples, I decided to keep them simple and just outline them using matching stickles.  The paper is from Stampin' Up, but I forget the name.  I won them from a friend that sell SU.

My last project for you is my favorite.  I decided to make a 'job reminder' chart for my kids in the bathroom using the Cricut cartridge called Chore Chart.  Sometimes, ok, a lot of the time, my kids forget some part of getting ready for their day or ending their day.  So, I am hoping this will help....

I kept to a simple concept, as to not confuse the kids with colors or to many details.

I did use some stickles, embossing and Tim Holtz Vintage paper ink to help make the 'chores' stand out a little more, but again, I did not want to add to much.  That is truly hard when you really want things to have a lot of POP!  I had to keep thinking "simple, simple, simple".  Don't overwhelm the children.....

The top square, that I angled with the children's name, is cut at 4", while everything else is cut at 3".  I also used Bazzill and Core'dinations paper through out the project.
Here is a picture of my son using the chart and putting his Clothing Pin on, to show he did his 'chore'.  I wrote the word "done" on 30 pins.  That way they will all get two per chore for the day.   Morning and Night.

Meet Noah, he is 4 1/2 yrs old.  He was loving the chart even
before I hung them up on ribbon.
This is all I have  for you today.  Come back and visit me, but first go on to visit my design team sister Jamie M at  http://craftygirl21.blogspot.com

Wednesday's My Creative Time

As part of the My Cricut Craft Room's design team, today I was able use
two of my favorite things!  My Cricut and Emma's My Creative Times Stamps.  How cool it that?!  I decided to do a card for my mom who I feel
needs a 'pick me up'.   Something to let her know we love and appreciate her
and all she does for us. Of course, I needed to make it from the
Grandkids though...Somehow, they are cuter.  hahaha!

Here is my completed card.
I have seen this heeled shoe before but it comes as a pair on the Paisely Cricut Cartridge, and I have always wanted to use it for something. Then I saw a card similar to this in one, in one of the Cricut magazines, so I thought--why not!

My card is a basic  size, all the papers I used are scraps and I  embossed the pink paper with  Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I did make an extra trip to Michaels, looking for some cork board-like paper for the heel of the shoe and found some with adhesive backing.  It was a little tempermental in cutting but it turned out just fine.  And I like the added touch to the shoe.  I also added a nice big flower to the top with a pearl-like brad to the center and some left over Creative Memories alphabet letters for spelling out "Nana".   Of course, once I got them  adhered on to my card, then I did not like the color green.  So, I used my Smooch Paints  in Apple Green to paint the stickers. For my sentiment,  I also chose to use Emma's, My Creative Time stamp set called "So Grateful For You".  I felt it fit perfectly for what I was looking to do and make.  Well, I hope you enjoyed my card today and wish you all many blessings today.  Don't forget to check out my design team sisters and there fabulous creations at My Cricut Craft Room
