Grandparents Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the My Cricut Craft Room Grandparents Day Blog Hop!
If you just happened to stop by or came from Jessica's Blog,  please start at the beginning at My Cricut Craft Room!

The Grand Prize for this hop is sponsored by Erica at Erica's Craft Room.  One person will win
a $25 Gift Certificate to be used in her store!  To be eligible to win the prize you MUST leave a comment at EVERY hop stop along the way.

My project today is a page out of an album for my Grandma, my children's Great Grandma.  One day I decided I would make her an album with the children's baby pictures inside and how they have grown years.  Grandma is 90 years old, so to be 91 in a couple months, and she lives in Wisconsin.  So, we do not get to see her very often.  Sometimes, making her things makes me feel better.  Calling her has gotten harder, as dementia is setting in and she never remembers that I call.  It has been really hard adjusting to the 'new' Grandma'.  But I love her and that's all that counts!

Here is the fun little page that the children helped me with....
The title is "Hook Line and Sinker"  Noah, one of my little ones, has been into fishing lately.  And Grandma used to fish all the time.  She even taught me how to skin a fish.  hahaha!  My husband doesn't belive me.  So, the title was to tie in the February-Valentine's Day and fishing theme.  Not to mention that my son is a heartbreaker.  You will be 'hooked, line and sinker'.  Get it?!  :)
The pages are 9x9.  The fish are from the Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge and the font is from the  Tear Drop Cricut Cartridge.  I was so happy to use some oldies but some goodies.  :)  I am sorry that I do not have the demensions for my die cuts, but I had three children helping me and I became sidetracked to say the least.  Sorry again!

In addition to the Grand Prize, I will be offering a prize to one randon
person who completes the hop and follows the same rules stated above and becomes a follower.

My Blog candy will be a Peachy Keen Face stamp.

Now it is time for you to continue on the Hop. Your next stop is Norma Gomez's Blog.

Remember you need to stop at every blog and comment for the Grand Prize.
  Have fun everyone!

  4. What a sweet layout!! How sweet that you create pages for your grandmother. My husband's grandmother is in a nursing home with advanced alzhimers - it is so sad!! She doesn't remember us or gets us confused with other relatives. Growing old kind of stinks!!! My grandparents and parents have all passed - probably having a huge party up there!! Glad my in-laws are here for my children!

Glad to be in this hop with you!!

  24. How lovely! And what a wonderful way to stay close to your grandmother. I can relate, my grandfather had Alzheimers and it was hard to see him lose all of his memories. I was in college then and not a paper crafter but I would have made him things like this so he could remember everyone.

  26. what a wonderful thoughtful gift you have given to your grandmother, it is hard when they lived so far away and then on top of it when their memory starts to fail, some grandchildren would just say why bother, so it is a blessing that you still try, thanks for sharing your project and your thoughts

  31. Hi Tess. I am your newest follower! Your layout is adorable ... how wonderful that you still can honor your grandma, at 91, though I do know how miserable it must be to have a grandma with dementia.

I love those front-facing fish on your l/o!
