WYEG Wednesday

Hey everyone,

Today is Would You Ever Guess Wednesday at My Cricut Craft Room. The theme for today was to create a project in black in white with some pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month and to use any feature key with our cartridges. The black and white is for National Shamu Day.

My project for today is an Anniversary card for my best friend and her husband.  I used only black and white paper and the Sweethearts Cartridge.  I chose the Card feature on page 53, the Tandum bicycle.  My best friend and her husband love to bike ride, so I thought this would be cute for them.

I cut the card out with Bazzill black card stock at fit to page, then layered the inside with  a plain white cardstock  and a behind the hearts and bike I placed a black and white  printed paper. I did highlight the edges of the bike with Pink ink.  I also added some pearls to parts of the bike for some fancy bling.

The hearts are filled in with Crystal stickles and Happy Anniversary is from page 70. It is cut out at 1.5 and inked in pink, in honor of Breast Cancer awareness. And I wrapped a white ribbon with silver edging around the card.

The inside of the card says "Congratulation's on Riding in Tandum for Eleven Years".

I hope you enjoyed this black and white feature challenge.  Don't forget to check out my other design team sisters and their ideas using black and white and the other features on our Cricut Cartridges.  You never know what might inspire you.  :)

Theme Day Thursday

Happy International Chore Day!!
For our projects today, the Design Team was asked to make something for someone's lunch.
How sweet and fun is that idea?!

All along I had this cute 3x3 card I was going to make and put in my
children's lunches using the new Create a Critter 2 cartridge.  But when I went to make the cards, I came across the My Community Cricut Cartridge.  Became sidetracked, and started reviewing it again, just for fun, or so I thought .....  Can you guess were this is going.... Yep, I  totally changed my project at the last minute.

Below is my final Lunch Time Puzzle project.

I did not want to use the whole puzzle that is available, so I cut the four pieces that would fit together.  I started out first cutting a cereal box at fit to page and then covered them in Colorbok  Glitter paper, and inking the the sides with Tim Holtz's  VictorianVelvet.   Using the Locker Talk Cricut Cartridge I cut out '2nd grade' at 2" and added some green stickles glitter.  The Lunch Time die cut is cut from page 11 from the My Community Cricut Cartridge at 1.75" with some stickles for an added sparkle.  Lastly, I used the Hannah Montana Cartridge to cut out the guitar at 1", added some pink stickles and the 'You Rock" sentiment from Pink By Design, Enjoy the Journey stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Go get Crafting and enjoy!

Hugs !!!

Mickey and Friends Monday with Crazy About Cricut

Today I have the awesome priviledge of being a guest designer for Jenny at www.crazyaboutcricut.blogspot.com .
If you have not checked out her blog yet, you NEED to check her out and become a new follower.  She is wonderful!!!

Toda,y Crazy About Cricut is called Mickey and Friends Monday.
How perfect is this theme for me?!  Especially, since I am in the process of making two Disney scrapbooks.  One for me and one for my mom, who does not scrapbook or craft.

The project I made is actually in the Pooh and Friends Cricut Cartridge handbook.
I have never (I repeat Never!) made any of the projects that Provo Craft has put in their books.  Mainly,  because once I get the cartridge I  am so exicted that I  just want to start creating.  Well, this weekend I saw this card and thought it was so stinkin' cute, I just had to try it.
And I love how it turned out!

Here is the card receipe:

Pooh and Friends Cricut Cartridge

Grandparents Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the My Cricut Craft Room Grandparents Day Blog Hop!
If you just happened to stop by or came from Jessica's Blog,  please start at the beginning at My Cricut Craft Room!

The Grand Prize for this hop is sponsored by Erica at Erica's Craft Room.  One person will win
a $25 Gift Certificate to be used in her store!  To be eligible to win the prize you MUST leave a comment at EVERY hop stop along the way.

My project today is a page out of an album for my Grandma, my children's Great Grandma.  One day I decided I would make her an album with the children's baby pictures inside and how they have grown years.  Grandma is 90 years old, so to be 91 in a couple months, and she lives in Wisconsin.  So, we do not get to see her very often.  Sometimes, making her things makes me feel better.  Calling her has gotten harder, as dementia is setting in and she never remembers that I call.  It has been really hard adjusting to the 'new' Grandma'.  But I love her and that's all that counts!

Here is the fun little page that the children helped me with....
The title is "Hook Line and Sinker"  Noah, one of my little ones, has been into fishing lately.  And Grandma used to fish all the time.  She even taught me how to skin a fish.  hahaha!  My husband doesn't belive me.  So, the title was to tie in the February-Valentine's Day and fishing theme.  Not to mention that my son is a heartbreaker.  You will be 'hooked, line and sinker'.  Get it?!  :)
The pages are 9x9.  The fish are from the Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge and the font is from the  Tear Drop Cricut Cartridge.  I was so happy to use some oldies but some goodies.  :)  I am sorry that I do not have the demensions for my die cuts, but I had three children helping me and I became sidetracked to say the least.  Sorry again!

In addition to the Grand Prize, I will be offering a prize to one randon
person who completes the hop and follows the same rules stated above and becomes a follower.

My Blog candy will be a Peachy Keen Face stamp.

Now it is time for you to continue on the Hop. Your next stop is Norma Gomez's Blog.

Remember you need to stop at every blog and comment for the Grand Prize.
  Have fun everyone!

September 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room

100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop Day Two
Collectively the design team uses over 100 different Cricut Cartridges
in their projects during the two days of this hop.

You should have started at http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/
if not please start at the beginning.

 Otherwise, you  probably came from

150 Dolche' Word Flash Cards all made with my Cricut!
The font is from Simply Sweet Cartridge and the tag is from the Sweet Treats Cartridge. My daughter came home with a list of 150 words she needs to learn before the end of the school year. So, to make it more fun for her, I broke out the Cricut and started cutting tags and words. To simplify the process I used cardstock from Recollections that already has the adhesive on it. So, it consisted of cutting and then just adhering the letters to make the words. My daughter loved it and bring it on the bus with her to practice.

My next project is a card for my husband using the Handy Man Lite Cartridge. When this Lite cartridge came out I knew I just 'had' to have it. (Don't we all say that...Hahaha!) My husband is all into tools, and making a 'man cave'. He also travels every week and thought it would be nice to make a card for him to find in his suitcase from the kids and I.

The card is a standard A2 size.    The tape measure die cut measures at approximately 4".
I also distressed the look of it with black ink to make it look more 'used'. I found the tools that form the word 'DAD' at Michaels. I just love them and want to try using my Gypsy and this cartridge to make my own. If it works maybe you'll see it on next month's blog hop. I also used the perfect stamp by Pink By Design, the Tool Time set for the inside.  Isn't it perfect?!

My final and third project for you is another Disney layout of Minnie Mouse's house.
I love how it turned out!

My 12x12 layout started out with  My Minds Eye, Deena's Penny Lane Specialty Glitter paper.  I matted two of my photo with the same glitter cardstock and then a purple from my stock.  I also used the Tim Holtz Distressing Ink, Dusty Grape to help the matting and photos stand out.   Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge was used to make Minnie on both pages.  She is cut out at 4.5 inches and embellished with stickles.  I used Prima flowers, Recollections Mulberry flowers, some pearl like brad and buttons from my stash of goodies to embellish the pages.

Here are some close up pictures of my pages and my Minnie Cricut Cuts.
